Which residence card should I choose if I work in Poland legally?
If the main purpose of your stay is legal employment under an employment contract, a work-based residence card is right for you. We'll review your contract and help you get the permit approved correctly the first time.
What grounds are required to obtain an EU long-term resident card?
There are three main grounds for issuing an EU long-term resident card:1. Continuous, legal residence in Poland for the last 5 years, meaning any time spent outside Poland did not exceed 10 months in total, with no single trip longer than 6 months;2. A stable, regular income over the last three years;3. Proof of Polish language proficiency or a certificate of completion from a "szkoła policealna" (post-secondary school).
What's the difference between an EU Blue Card and a regular work-based card?
The Blue Card is designed for highly qualified professionals with at least 5 years of work experience or a higher education degree. It grants more rights, including a simplified path to other EU countries.
Can a foreigner work legally while waiting for a temporary residence and work permit?
Yes, provided the foreigner holds a valid work permit or a registered declaration of intent to entrust work to a foreigner. Waiting for a decision on the temporary residence and work permit only extends the foreigner's legal stay in Poland.

What documents does a foreigner need to register a company in Poland?
Only a PESEL number and a registered Trusted Profile (Profil Zaufany) are required for company registration.
Which foreigners are entitled to start a sole proprietorship in Poland?
